Welcome to
Mrs. Moreira's Music Notes
All music activities are centered on group work, where socialization, cooperation ,respect, and team work are stressed. In this context, students learn:
-How to use the body for movement in a given space
-How to wait for one's turn
-How to use instruments
-How to use a singing voice
-How to follow directions in a musical activity
Specific curriculum guidelines are met for each grade level, with more advanced material/skill added at each level. Some of these are:
-Showing an awareness of voice placement and tone matching (ear training)
-Responding to changes in tempo and dynamics within a music composition
-Identifying and performing simple rhythmic patterns using quarter notes, eighth notes, half notes and whole notes
- Identifying notes in the treble clef
-Identifying the basic form of a song
In addition, performing skills are stressed from the educational point of view.
